Kho Phangan used to be the hippy destination, currently a 'broader range' of tourists come to the island here. But they all want to find a relaxing and easy going place. As a popular paradise island in the Southern Gulf of Thailand, the island is real getaway from all the stress at home, here some may go relaxing on quiet deserted beaches or enjoy the under water world of Phangan and go for a dive at the tiny island of Ko Ma

If you do not like hanging around at the beach, try something else. the island has some attractions like Kitesurfing, ATV Rentals, Elefant Safaris, Djungle Trecking, Snorkeling, Muay Thai, Yoga Classes,a Chinese Temple and Lessons for Thai-style Cooking. There are concrete roads to Haad Rin, but you have been warned that the concrete roads are not in the greatest condition and unless you are a competitant motorbike driver then do not try to get to Haad Rin, as most accidents involving motorcycles happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your scooter at the 7/11 at Baan Tai and pay approx 50 Baht for a taxi over the mountains to Had Rin.
